Gong Sign for Center for Divine Awakening

For over 10 years I have walked past the old gong sign in front of my Kundalini Yoga center in Phoenix, AZ. As the decade passed the sign faded in the Arizona sun. I knew that I had the ability to recreate it with clay tiles. The Center for Divine Awakening has brought me a lot of peace and happiness over the years. I really wanted to give back to the center and bring the gong sign and logo back to its original colorful glow. Because the clay tiles have been fired to 2200 degrees in a kiln, the sun cannot fade the color, no matter how hot it gets in Phoenix. Now it will shine bright forever. I hope that the new sign will attract new attention and guide those who see it into a wonderful place full of new possibilities.

My latest project for the Center for Divine Awakening is located at 15801 N. 40th St, Phoenix, AZ 85032. In the area of corporate identity, I designed and constructed a new logo sign for the Center to replace the existing one. For the design, I translated the Center’s existing logo into hand cut and glazed ceramic tile. The sign is double sided so it can be seen from both directions, and the ceramic portion is 36 inches in diameter. The metal frame was fabricated and installed by E2 Innovations, a metal company in Phoenix that I have worked with on many projects before.
