I have been chosen to be a spotlight artist collaborating with Laura Spalding Best at ArtLink's Art d'Core Gala PANORAMA Saturday, March 16, from 5:30-9:30pm at at Phoenix Art Museum for one night only!
I am so honored to be a part of this arts celebration.
ArtLink is the major art organization in Phoenix and Arizona. Laura Spalding Best is on the Artist Council for Artlink and she chose me to be her collaborator for this event. Laura and I are creating the “Curiosity Chapel”, a thrifted room filled with a timeline of our work from 2004 - present, our 20 years of making art in Phoenix. There are also 35 doors or drawers to open and discover, inspect, and explore our collections. We spent three weeks going to Goodwill stores and buying furniture to create our "room". Then we started placing art and filling drawers with endless collections. It’s staged in my garage and we are renting a U-Haul to move it to the Phoenix Art Museum on Friday for the event on Saturday night. We are truly kindred spirits who have enjoyed working together and obsessively creating and collecting throughout our careers.
This is how our room innocently started and then it kept growing.......
Yesterday we were interviewed by Amber Singer from KJZZ, The Show. It's the local NPR station in Phoenix and the interview is scheduled to air Friday March 15, during the 9-10am hour. Please listen! We had a lot of fun trying to explain just what we have done.
Some of my work over the past 20 years is being represented by small 5x5" squares that I have been working on in my studio. Do you remember the larger pieces?

Although it would have fit nicely in the Curiosity Chapel, this piece, Tread on the Trail, is on view at the Scottsdale Civic Center Gallery in the main Public Library in an exhibition titled COLORLOVE. Still on view until March 30, 2024.
