The Curiosity Chapel lives on for a second viewing! Please join Laura Spalding Best and I for the opening on Friday, April 19, from 6-9pm at the ArtLink Annex (right between the Mood Room and the ArtLink offices) 3121 N 3rd Ave, Phx, AZ 85013
Because of the quick and brilliant thinking of Catrina Kahler, president of ArtLink, on the morning after the GALA event at Phoenix Art Museum, when we were about to take our moving truck to Goodwill and unload all our furniture, she gave us a space and the Chapel a second life, and we couldn't be more grateful.
Our new installation will be on view through June 1 as part of ROADSIDE ATTRACTION - CHALLENGING REALITY NOW, AN EXCITING, CHALLENGING, VALLEY-WIDE, ALTERNATIVE, ART EXPERIENCE
You will be able to peak through two windows and a door to see the Curiosity Chapel 24/7, with some new window displays. But if you are interested in coming inside and exploring 20 years of art making and inspecting 35 drawers and cabinets of collections, you can stop by when we are open Every Friday from 6-9pm and Saturday from 1-4pm From April 19 - June 1, 2024
Here are some views from March 16 at the Phoenix Art Museum
As I said in my last letter, we were interviewed by Amber Singer from KJZZ, The Show. It's the local NPR station in Phoenix. The interview aired Friday March 15. The link is right here for you to listen:
Many people enjoyed exploring the Curiosity Chapel on March 16, but it did get crowded at times. Even if you did see it at the Art Museum, you will find some new things to discover in the second version. So please come back and delve into it some more.
Finally, a few more pictures for those of you that are far away and can't visit in person and also some close ups and ariel views.
Laura and I would love to see you at the Curiosity Chapel version 2.0. Come see us, our artwork, and our collections in our office. There is so much to discuss!
